On behalf of our Partner, Sympraxis Team, a well-established Team of Experts based in Athens, which provides Sustainability and ESG services, we are looking for an Events & Sponsorship Manager to join Sympraxis dynamic team on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. However, the company will seek any available opportunity that will allow the continuation of the collaboration.

The firm supports the establishment and operation of effective partnerships involving private businesses, public sector organizations and NGOs, leading to innovative and valuable contributions for the environment and society. Sympraxis is a 360 one-stop shop that provides sustainability strategy, implementation and communication services and undertakes projects for corporations such as OTE (Deutsche Telecom Group), Google, Papastratos (Philip Morris International), Henkel Hellas SA, Growthfund, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, the European Union, the Greek state, and other local and international institutions. Sympraxis currently consists of 18 team members.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Events & Sponsorship Manager to join our team at Sympraxis. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of existing sponsors, sourcing new sponsorship opportunities, and executing seamless events. You will collaborate closely with the Sympraxis technical team and ensure that all event deliverables are met on time and within budget, while maintaining high standards of client satisfaction and compliance.

The main duties of this role include:

  • Plan, coordinate and execute Sustainability, CSR and Social Contribution Projects (e.g. reforestation initiatives, recycling systems, communication campaigns, e.tc.) with the support of experienced team members.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing sponsors and partners across Sympraxis events and collaborations.
  • Build and maintain long-term, productive relationships with key sponsors, ensuring alignment with event objectives.
  • Lead end-to-end event planning, from initial concept through to execution, ensuring all client objectives and requirements are met.
  • Oversee event logistics across physical, digital, and hybrid formats, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience for attendees and sponsors.
  • Negotiate and manage sponsorship agreements, ensuring deliverables are clearly outlined and met within agreed timeframes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to guarantee sponsors’ needs are fulfilled, from branding opportunities to on-site activation.
  • Work alongside the Sympraxis technical team to manage event operations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth execution on event days.
  • Be the primary point of contact for sponsors and stakeholders during the event, stepping in to resolve any issues promptly.
  • Assist with preparing and submitting tenders and bids.
  • Provide an exceptional level of client service, offering regular updates and strategic insights to sponsors and partners.
  • Ensure adherence to GDPR regulations, privacy policies, and all health & safety procedures in the planning and execution of events.
  • Plan and execute event budgets, ensuring costs are accurately tracked and the project stays within financial parameters.
  • Create, write, and edit compelling content tailored for various communication channels, including social media platforms, websites, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-event reports, analyzing outcomes, sponsor feedback, and overall success against event KPIs.

 

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in event and project management, as well as business development.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing events from concept to completion.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Exceptional business writing skills in both Greek and English.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and make informed decisions.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in using digital event platforms such as Zoom and Webex.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism; able to address partner and client challenges with commitment and enthusiasm.
  • Driving license.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel outside the company’s headquarters as required.

This position is initially offered as a maternity leave cover, but there is a strong potential for continued employment beyond the duration of the leave, based on performance and business needs.
