On behalf of our client, the Athens Conservatoire (Ωδείο Αθηνών) we are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Department in Athens.

The Role
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the accounting function through hands-on involvement in daily financial operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Recording purchase, sales, and expense invoices in the accounting system, in compliance with myDATA requirements
- Reconciling cash, bank accounts, and supplier/customer balances
- Collecting, organizing, and archiving accounting documents and financial records
- Supporting the preparation of periodic VAT returns and other tax obligations
- Issuing invoices and monitoring collections and payments
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and internal financial reports
- Communicating with suppliers and customers regarding financial matters
- Performing general accounting and administrative tasks, including basic handling of contracts, lease agreements, and TAXIS-related obligations
Required Qualifications
- Degree or diploma from a TEI, IEK, or equivalent institution in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and Greek tax legislation
- Excellent computer skills and strong command of MS Office, especially Excel
- Familiarity with Epsilon Net – Extra accounting software will be considered a strong asset
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience of approximately 3 years in an accounting department or accounting firm
Contract Type & Work Model
- Initial 3-month fixed-term contract, followed by a 6-month fixed-term contract
- Upon successful completion of the above period, transition to a permanent (open-ended) employment contract
- On-site role, based at the organization’s premises in Athens
